Under direct supervision, verify and monitor the certification status of applicants and employees. Confirm district compliance with state certification and licensing requirements. Confirm responsibility for Human Resources records, seasonal special projects, and records platforms.

Bachelor’s Degree, required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to understand and implement certification procedures as stated by the State Board of Education Certification (SBEC) and Texas Education Agency (TEA)
Basic understanding for Education Preparation Program certification requirements
High attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of Human Resources laws and regulations
Strong organizational, teamwork, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and documents
Demonstrated task-oriented self-starter with the ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Certification and Licensing:
1. Process teacher applications and verify certification and licenses with the Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC), universities, colleges, licensing agencies and education agencies in other states.
2. Assist/partner with stakeholders and District Leaders in identifying appropriate certification requirements for positions.
3. Track certification, testing, and permit status and follow-up with employees to ensure completion of certification requirements within established timelines. Process SBEC permit applications and monitor permit status.
4. Research and maintain current information on SBEC rules, certification requirements and processes, and testing dates.
5. Conduct monthly screening of charter wide certification for disciplinary inscriptions.
6. Process Educator Preparation Program documentation and monitor status of applicants.
7. Maintain Human Resources certification information database to ensure that employee information is accurate, current, and reliable.
8. Compile staffing data and prepare certification reports as required.
9. Prepares correspondence, forms, and reports according to district standards and requirements.
10. Assist prospective teachers, current teachers, and administrators in interpreting and implementing Department of Education requirements for teacher certification.
11. Review qualifications for emergency teaching certificates as appropriate.
12. Attend various training courses to stay up to date on Texas certification requirements.
13. Knowledge of the Visiting Teacher International Program certification posting and deactivations. Entering requisitions for Visiting International Teachers Certifications.
14. Follow-up on all Foreign Evaluation Transcripts.
15. Train district staff over certification requirements.
16. Creation of Standard Operating Procedures and Business Practices aligned with Certification.
Reports and Correspondence:
17. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required, including maintaining a database of certification and licensing information for certified or licensed professionals, paraprofessionals, and auxiliary employees.
18. Prepares correspondence, forms, and reports according to district standards and requirements.
Human Resources Records:
19. Provide employees with copies of records from personnel files maintained by Human Resources within 24 business hours.
20. Creation and maintenance of electronic request forms database for tracking and fulfillment.
21. Oversee Public Loan Forgiveness Application and completion.
Other:
22. Answer and respond to incoming calls, receive reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
23. Maintain high levels of confidentiality and professional integrity.
24. All other duties assigned by supervisor, Director, and Executive Director of Human Resources.
25. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
26. Seasonal demands aligned to charter, and department needs.
27. 100% on-site office work location.
