Job Title: Electrician

Job Summary:

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Electrician in Bethesda, MD (6:00am – 2:30pm Monday – Friday). The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR facility manager and support him/her to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities of this position are to be responsible for the electrical needs and general facility maintenance at the facility while performing general maintenance of equipment as required. Knowledge of and capable to perform electrical repairs and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicants must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in facilities electrical maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively with the Facility Manager to determine service needs. Coordinates and supervise client sub-contractors while performing service on site.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking to ensure correct solutions are implemented for building electrical systems
  • Possesses hands-on expertise in navigating electrical systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, operating power and hand tools and interpreting blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications
  • Maintain a strict electrical PM schedule to include but not limited to UPS & PDU systems, emergency generators, lighting systems, A/C and Heating equipment.
  • Performs a wide variety of electrical corrective maintenance work requests such as ballast and bulb replacements, switches, outlets, breakers, interior/exterior/parking garage lighting, etc.

  • Perform monitoring of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range.

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience related to electrical facility maintenance.
  • Electrical license (Apprentice or Journeyman) desired and a plus
  • HS Diploma
  • Valid US driver’s license.

Compensation Range: $30/hr - $37/hr

Other Compensation: this position is not bonus or commission eligible
