BC Forward is hiring for Material Handler at Indianapolis, IN

Position Title: Material Handling Technician - 2nd shift

Location: 9115 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256

Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility to extend the contract.

Work Arrangement: 1:30pm to 10:00pm

Pay: $20.35/hour ($18.50/hour base + 10% shift differential)

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
• Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items as necessary.
• Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.
• Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
• Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
• Examines, stocks and distributes materials to inventory and manufacturing lines.
• May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.
• Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods with a moderate degree of supervision.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalency 1 year of work experience English proficiency required to maintain, ensure, and promote safety requirements and procedures for required machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred qualifications:

• Basic computer skills with competency using standard software packages (Word and Excel).
• Strong interpersonal skills, proactive, and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, Good organizational skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail, Be able to perform basic math calculations. Thorough understanding of appropriate safety procedures.
