Job Description

Role Summary: The Safety & Compliance Coach will be in charge of all safety and compliance regulations and guidelines, as well as assist with the departments’ goals and responsibilities. The position will maintain compliance with State, Federal and employer safety regulations and policies and will also assist in the support of recruiting and retention objectives as needed. As the safety compliance coach you are a great team supporter, are flexible with a go-with-the-flow attitude and are great at adapting to new situations.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Oversight of all compliance items, safety rules and regulations included but not limited to daily driver logs and ELD compliance
  • Handle all safety calls by providing information about that specific safety topic

· Review safety events like speeding and dashcams to determine if coachable, coach as needed

  • Provide continuing education and training for new and current employees including DOT and state regulations, hours of service, company policies and procedures

· Collaborate with Operations to support our safety and operational objectives

  • Assist with new hire orientation including complete oversight of ELD training
  • Assist with recruiting as needed

· All other duties assigned

Qualifications

· Strong attention to detail

· Time management and ability to meet deadlines

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to identify a need for improvement or change

· Strong interest in helping others succeed

· Ability to understand safe driving principles, behaviors and FMCSA regulations

· Must be able to effectively coach and support others

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch. Must be able to operate various standard office equipment including computer. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
