Job Description

About the Role:

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced General HVAC Superintendent to lead field operations for our residential new construction division. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HVAC system execution—from jobsite readiness and material staging to installation, startup, and quality assurance.

You’ll work closely with field teams, builders, vendors, and internal departments to ensure projects are completed on time, to spec, and with excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct presite visits to assess jobsite readiness, identify scope gaps, and coordinate set out.
  • Create and communicate clear, actionable job notes before project starts.
  • Lead and support field teams through each stage of project execution, including ductwork installation and system startup.
  • Oversee and manage dispatch and scheduling of field personnel to meet project timelines.
  • Train and mentor field staff on quality standards, safety protocols, and productivity best practices.
  • Coordinate job starts, ensure timely completion, and align with builder construction schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues to maintain quality and prevent delays.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to support procurement by identifying material needs in advance.
  • Oversee staging and warehouse coordination to ensure materials are ready and available for each phase of work.
  • Maintain strong communication with builders and internal teams to align expectations and execution.

What You Bring:

  • Understanding airflow principles and duct system design
  • Calculating CFM requirements for whole-home and individual room performance
  • Reading and applying Manual J (load calculations) and Manual D (duct sizing)
  • Familiarity with all duct types and installation methods, including Wye system and pressurized systems
  • Mechanical code compliance (local and state)
  • Using Bluebeam and blueprint layouts to inform job set out and duct design
  • Troubleshooting airflow issues and system balancing
  • Material procurement, staging, and warehouse coordination
  • Crew management, job costing, and labor planning
  • Quality control oversight during rough-in and set out phases
  • Field training and mentoring of installation teams
